It is widely accepted by everyone that boys and girls are different.Nowadays, many mothers worried about their son playing dolls instead of playing trucks, and their mother want to seek the psychologists for help. In my experiences, I have heard about lot of examples like Bradley; as we can see, there is an increasing number of children are faced with this problems that they cannot have a correct gender difference definition. Sometimes children may develop in an opposite gender. Boys like girls’ shirts, and girls look like a boy. This phenomenon has now become a social problem; many professional people from many areas now try to find the solution.

Firstly, from my experience, I think that parents should take the major responsibility for their children’s non-tradition behavior. Because many of my male friends told me that when they were little boys, their mother let them wear girl’s dresses, and took a photo. The psychologist can give the children a treatment, they will use some advanced psychological method to treat the children, but the children have spent a lot of time with their parents. If their parents still use their wrong senses to teach their children, when they grow up, their gender behavior will not accepted by society.

many children do not know that their definition about the gender is wrong until they have a test. Therefore, parents should give their children a correct gender behavior, such as give the boy trucks, transformer,  let them wear the T-shirt, jeans, paint their room into blue, and give them a bicycle or skateboard as a present. When the girls run into this problem, let the girl wear pretty and cute dress, give them a doll and a teddy bear. It will help the children to have the correct behavior. Therefore, parents are the key to the treatment of the abnormal behavior.

Secondly, society should take a part of the responsibility.We can find that many TV shows nowadays give children a wrong definition of the gender difference that is if a man looks like a woman, or a woman looks like a man, it’s a cool thing. This ridiculous phenomenon directly contributed to the young children feel confused about what’s the normal gender behavior they should have. Young children like fashion stuffs, they like to learn from their idols’ style of clothing, and their cool posture. Since the young children didn’t have the normal gender behavior. Therefore, our mass Medias have duty to should give the young children a correct gender behavior. Children and adolescents are influenced by role models in society. This part of treatment is what the physiologists cannot fix.

Last but not least, I think the school should help the psychologists treat the children, who have abnormal gender behavior.

As we all know, the most academic education we learned are from school, therefore, schools should pay more attention to guide the children what the normal gender behaviors they should have. I suggest school give the boys more sports classes, give the girls more dancing classes, especially for the children who has the same problem as Bradley, let this part of children to play with the same sex children, to help them recognize the normal behavior by themselves.

       To sum up, we cannot only rely on the psychologist to fix the abnormal gender differences, parents, society and school should together influence this king of children to find what their normal gender behavior is.

 In the fast—moving world, people can easily find private information such as their campaign contributions, property sales, court cases and photos. People’s digital footprint can be easily found on the Internet. No matter how the company and websites promise you that your information is stored securely and anonymously or not, the individual’s pattern on the Internet can reveal a tremendous amount of information about them. Therefore, if people want to protect their privacy, they can write to the web site owners and ask them to remove their private information form the websites, or for the particularly sensitive information form the websites, people can ask a lawyer for help. However, the most importation things we should focus on the privacy life is searchable are we need to be more judicious about what we post on the internet, government should take a part of responsibility and clearing cookies.

       I think individuals should be more judicious about what they post on the Internet. In my experiences, when I check my email, I always can receive many spam emails from some companies’ advertisement; I wonder how they got my information including mu name and email address. I am sure I did not give any of my personal information to these companies. Except for email, I guess people must have the same experiences as I do. Such as receive unknown calls, when you answer the call its advertisement. Therefore, our privacy information seems open to everyone. If someone want to know something about us, they can get it, when you googling your own name, they will find there are many information related to your privacy, your award, hobbies, address, contact information. When we see this privacy, we cannot do anything about them. Some information you will never think will be searched on the internet. Once you leave your privacy, information on the internet, your information might be copied to another websites. Therefore, what individuals can are leave as less information as you can, and tighten the settings yourself on the “Face book”, “Twitter”, to deny access to people you do not know.

       Furthermore, the government needs to enact a number of related laws. “Online information about consumers comes form several sources. Public recorders such as campaign contributions, property sales and court cases are increasingly posted on the on internet.”(‘Online, your private life is searchable”, David Sarno). Government should protect people’s privacy. Although the campaign contributions, court cases are public records, government should change the way to show the public record in another way. Perhaps the government can use the access to the public information. If people want to see the public records, he or she should meet some requirements, like their jobs are related to this records, or they should get a permit or access code to see the records from the websites. For the company, if some companies collect the privacy information from illegal way, they should be charged by law. The rules like that can protect people’s private information.

       Thirdly, to clean our cookies regularly is a useful and easiest way to protect our privacy by ourselves. Cookies are a tool that when we visit the web sites, it will show some privacy information about your log in last time. In most of time, we think it is convenient; however, it can leak out your privacy information. Therefore, clearing the cookies is vey essential.

       In sum, most of us do not want to find privacy information on the internet. What we can do are leave less information as we can, and clearing the cookies regularly. What’s more is government should enact some laws to protect people’s online privacy.

There is a famous sentence that “When you go to Rome, do what the Roman do.”  It sounds interesting, but it tells us that when you go to another country, it is important to fit in their culture. Therefore the cross-culture communication is the best way to help you know the difference between your home country and the foreign country.

Americans are always active in the daily life. When I first came to America, I was amazed to find that people say “Hi” or smile to strangers. This behavior let me feel kindness. It is another common way that American use in their daily lives, such as they always use “Thank you” to appreciate other people have done. When Americans want to pass by the other people , no matter how narrow the street is or how big the space is , they say “Excuse me” to apologize. To be honestly, I feel shock for the first time, because I never thought that Americans are so polite in daily life before I came to America.Therefore, in American’s daily life, kindness and polite are the basic rules people should obey. Compared to my country, people always guard against strangers, and do not talk to strangers. Therefore, it is the first communication way that foreigner can follow.

Secondly, Americans are very direct. “When they want something they say “yes”, and when they don’t like they say “no”.Americans like to tell others their real feelings; they express their feelings directly and honestly. They won’t consider too much other people’s feeling. They care what they feel, and in their mind to let themselves feel happy and comfortable are more important than to do the things they don’t like to do. In addition, Americans will tell you such as “I like your shoes”, or “Your T-shirt is so cute”. They tell others what they directly thought and their true feeling. From my own experience, Americans are easygoing, because you can know what they feel, if they feel bad or uncomfortable, they will let you know, and you do not need to guess their opinions. Therefore, it is very essential to have psychological preparation to face American’s true feeling and their manners. For these kinds of manners, the foreigners should know that it does not show Americans are impolite, it just their common manners of get along with other people. This is the second communication way that we foreigners can follow.

Last but not least, people in America are individual. Americans develop their individual consciousness when they were young. Americans educate their children do what they should do in the future. They train their children as separate individuals, and tell them the only person they can rely on is themselves. They cannot look forward to other’s help in this competitive world. Therefore when they grow up, they are used to do their own thing individually, and in their opinion, everyone should do their own things, and not rely on others. It seems that Americans are cold, but America’s significant part is personal value. The key point the foreigner should know about America is that you should take the responsibility by yourself. 

To sum up, every country has their culture. If people want to adapt the foreign life quickly, what they should do is communicate with the local people, and fit in their culture, life style, get along with other people’s manner and personal values. According to these rules, you may enjoy your life in a foreign country.

These days in the Comm 10 class, we have watched movie and read some materials about the young women in the society, I am think about what are  the most important factors that young women should take into consideration.

Firstly, young women should set up their own personal goal; this goal is just for themselves, for their own dream. Their dream may contain their professional career, their dream life style; woman should be the heroines of their own life. Their goal cannot rely on other people, it’s their own future, they should charge of their life, mind. And take the responsibility of them. They should be independent and sociable.

Base on the goal, young women should be activity, independent, and aggressive on their daily life. Once the goal has been set up, the young women should devote themselves to the goal, not only achieve the goal but also prove themselves. The young women should have their happiness, and work hard for their own happiness. No matter what other people say or think, they won’t change their dream and goal. Although the young women meet some difficult in their way to achieve the goal, they should be a strong women, and tell themselves, I can defend this difficult.

Thirdly, although young women would spend a lot of time in their goal, but they still need some rest time, they should do some sports, do some shopping, and make them graceful and attractive. They can read some books during their spare time. The young man cannot be passive; working is not all about their life, working cannot steal their life, therefore, young women should take the balance of their goal and enjoy their lives.

Many people who travel to another country may meet the problem like that they cannot speak that country’s language. When you meet this kind of problem you may feel helpless. However, if there some people who can speak your country’s language, things will be difference. Therefore not only on these kind of common things but also on business, bilingual /multilingual specialize in U.S.A., which country have a large number of immigrant, there are three reasons to support my opinion, growing immigrant, population, and also less expense.
Firstly, we all know that America have a large part of immigrant many of them cannot speak English .Therefore, some American company should recruit bilingual /multilingual employees to help their customer to deal with the product. It is a good way that company hire bilingual /multilingual employees will have more advantage than the company does not give this service.

Secondly the world is become more and more globalization, many American company have many employees who do not work in U.S.A. like the example in article, Microsoft company set up new call center in Indian. And also many company sell their product to another countries, their customers are in the every corner of the world. Therefore, bilingual /multilingual employees will give their customer a well know what the customers need and what the customers want. Last week I have call the Bank for my account, but I cannot hear the people clearly and then I call them Chinese line , I find my results convenient, and this is an example which explain the  beneficial  to hire bilingual employees.

Lastly if American companies hire bilingual /multilingual employees, it will decrease company payment. Because if you hire all employees who just can speak one language, but the company can pay to the same money to hire bilingual /multilingual employees. It’s not doubt that company will choose the first one.

All in all, I think the American company should hire bilingual employees because in the companies world and financial crisis. American company should give their customers better services than before. So that they can pretend their position in competitive markets.

These day, I watched a TV show which end in the August 8 2009 named ”  The Time Of The Truth” on FOX. This TV show is” a game a contestant is hooked up to a polygraph and asked more than 50 questions; there is no polygraph testing conducted during the actual show. Without knowing the results of the polygraph, he or she is asked 21 of those same questions again on the program, each becoming progressively more personal in nature. If the contestant answers honestly, according to the polygraph results, he or she moves on to the next question; however, should a contestant lie in his or her answer (as determined by the polygraph) or simply refuse to answer a question after it has been asked, the game ends. If he/she gives a false answer before the $10,000 level of questions, he/she leaves with nothing; after the $25,000 level, if a false answer is given, the contestant leaves with $25,000 (during the first season, a false answer on any level caused the player to leave with nothing). For each tier of questions answered correctly, the contestant wins the corresponding amount of money. A contestant may stop at any time before any question is asked and collect their earnings, but once they hear a question, they must answer it or lose the game. After watche a part of this TV show, I shocked a lot because the problem in this TV shows are very harsh and tricky, the palyer need to answer some questions which are very privacy such as ” Do you hate your father when you are young?” Do you have sex with your customer when you worked in the restruant?’ ” Have you cheat with your firend’s wife?” These questions I list are the most common one, for the each person, they will asked sepecified privacy problem , and their family and close friend will listen their answer which may related to themself. But , most of the answer will hurt their family and friend. But they should choose to tell the truth in order to win the money or they can choose do not answer the problem but have nothing.

I feel that in our society, the truth between people and people is becoming a thing that cannot easy to tell each other, sometimes people choose to hide something in order to not hurt their family and friends, but in the end it happens. After they know the truth, they canot go back to the good relationship and pretect nothing happen.

In another way,  many people now like money than everything, in this TV show, the player choose to hurt her or his closeest people, their aims are to get the money. Is the money more improtant than to hurt another people?  These people will find become a lonely rich people is not a funny things, loss the people who love you is the worest thing in the world.

After readingr the book about the women journalists, I find that it is the most interesting chapter until I have this class. Because to become a woman journalists is one of my dreams.

In order to know the background and the history about the outstanding women journalists, I do some researches, and I want to share with my friends through this blog. It’s a good way to remind me that I have a journalists dream.

The first I will introduce is Eleanor Rossevelt.

As we all know, she was the first lady of the U.S.A from 1933-1945, she is a wonderful outstanding woman, not only she support her husband president Rossevelt ” New Decay” but she also used her high social position to give an access the woman in the media. She was the first woman to bulid a means of communication for other women through the media. She opened the world to the women who want to work in the communication field. Eleanor Rossevelt was also a good writer, she had a newspaper column ” My Day”. She used this column to tell her daily activities to the society, her column based upon the public welfare which attracted many female readers attention. “My Day” kept a record fo the First Lady’s hectic schedule.

The second woman journalist is Dorothy Thompson

Dorothy Thompson was noted by “Time” magazine in 1939 as one of the two most influential women in Americam, the other was Eleanor Rossevelt. She was an Anti-Nazi activitie. After world war II she wrote a monthly article for the” Ladies’s home Journal” for 24years. Focing on the gardening, children, art and other domestic and women’s interest topics.

The third woman journalist is Margaret Bourke-white

Margaret Bourke-white was an American Photographer and documentary photographer. She is the first female war correspondent and the first woman to be allowed to work in combat zoned during world war II

Last but not least, I will introduce a Chinese American outstanding journalist whose name is Wendi Deng Murdoch.She is the wife of News Corporation Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch.

After studying at CSUN, Deng chose to attend business school at Yale, due to the international emphasis of its MBA program. After graduating from Yale she began searching for a job, and met Bruce Campbell via a mutual friend; Campbell at the time oversaw finance and corporate development at Fox TV, Los Angeles. He subsequently offered Deng an internship at News Corp subsidiary, Star TV, in Hong Kong, which developed into a full time position. Though a junior employee, Deng took a role in planning Star TV’s operations in Hong Kong and China, and helped to build up Chinese distribution for Star’s “Channel V” music channel, and investigated interactive TV opportunities for News Digital Systems.

Today, I watch a movie named ” An Education”, this movie’s background was Twentieth century it describles a 16 years old girl who studied at a high school in England named Jenny, she was a very smart and pretty girl, all the teachers and her parent expected her can go to Oxford. At first Jenny conscientiously obeyed the rules of the school until she met a gentlement–David. David gave her another life which full of enthusiastic,he lead her to the classical concert, the high society’s banquet, give her CHANEL as gift. Little Jenny has lost in the romantic world. he like this life style, in this world, no homework, no Oxford,no latin , all the things are she wanted. David can give her all she wanted which she cannot got from her parents. When she told her parents she want to engage in David, her parents agreeded with it, they sais the reason why they want Jenny go to Oxford is want to she marry to the man like David. Then Jenny left school,  her teachers asked her do not do that, they thought if a girl didn’t reveive high education and to early to marry was superficial and she will repent her decided one day. In the end of this movie, Jenny found that David had wife and child, and she was one of the girl that David cheated. She felt so sad, but she dicided to go back to her student’s life, with the help of her teacher and her efforts, she was admitted to Oxford University. Because she knew that “The life I want, there is no short cut.”

After watched this movie, I remember a Chinese old proverb that is “Daughter has to use a rich way to develop.” Because in our morden society, there are too many attracts, little girls easily to loss themself in reality world. Therefore, if parents can give their daughter a good living conditions, give her better education, also give her a sense of worth, let them have dependent personality, therefore, when they face the same circumstances, they won’t make the choice like Jenny. As the Jenny understand in the end, ” The life we want, there is no shortcut.” Girls need to pay more attention on themself, enrich the mind with knowledge. Remember, there is no shortcut in the life. This is also the movie want to tell us.

In the recent, article “Former judge fired up on making pot legal” is now become a hot topic which is discussed by a large number of people. Steve Lopez who is the columnist for the “Los Angeles Time” wrote an article to support Jim Gray, a former judge who wants people to quote him and let the politicians reelected that people in the USA need to legalize drugs. In his opinion, violence is heightened by the use of drugs. So if pot is made legal, it will influence an increasing number of people in danger, specially children and young people. So the campaign to legalize drugs is the emergency things. After read this article, I think about it for a long time, and I agree with the Gay, I think it would be beneficial for a society to legalize pot (marijuana). And the three main reasons are come from: Criminal rate, bad influence for our society and also making pot legal is a new way to defend drugs. My opinions are as following.

The first reason for me to choose is criminal rate. As we all know, drug always has the relationship with criminal. Some drug dealers sell pot to the children not only in order to earn money but also want to control them to do some illegal things. Some of the young have not a well and positive know about this world this kind of society. They may easily be influenced by these bad guys. They try drugs just because curiosity about them, and want to get a feeling that never have. This is the beginning of the dangerous. As the time goes by, they cannot live without drugs. If their money is not enough, they will do some violence things in order to get money for their pot. So if we making pot legal, and no one under 21 years old can buy drugs. People who do not according that, the drug dealers will be putted in jail.

In addition to the first reason, the second reason is pot is bad for our society. In the article, Gay says we can put the drug in government store to sell. I agree with it. Such like the alcohol, we all know that no one under 21 years old can buy wine. It is also a good way to control drugs. Because the society problem that the drug bring us is more seriously than the alcohol. Drugs have destroy many family is this dear children forever. Therefore if we cannot control drugs, our society improvement will be decrease.

Lastly, in fact what we doing to insisting the war on drugs has failed. So we could not still insist to defend it, what we could not still insist to defend it, what we should do now is change our mind to find a new way to control it. May be making pot legal is not the most correct way, but it is a way now we can have a control the people who have drugs in a least population.

All in all I think it would be beneficial for a society to legalize pot. It is the only way that we can do and to pay more and more attention on educate children and young people far away the drug and know the health is the most important things in their life. So making pot legal in not means that we think drug is not means that we think drug is legal, but another way to pretend more people for away drugs.

Nowadays, mass media is not a local thing, it becomes an international event in the world. Wherever you are , if you connect to the internet, read the newspaper or watch the TV talk show, you will know what happen in your city, in your country,also in the world. Mass media makes our life more exciting and convenient. If you want you can know what you are interested in the first time.

In my experience, I like watching America drama before i came to USA, almost of my friends like it too. When i was young, the TV series i like best is “Growing Pain.” Although I have the different background, I still can find some common vision in this drama. Except the “growing Pain. ” I have watched ” Friends” , ”The desperate housewives”, “How I met your mother”, ” Gossip Girl” etc. As you can see, the international mass media lets the international audience can enjoy the TV series.

Except the TV series，all my girl friends like to read the magaizne like ” VOGUE” “ELLE” etc, which publish not only in USA but also in other countries, we can know the latest fashion news through this kind of media.

Therefore, the development of mass media, give us a vivid world, it makes the world smaller than before, thanks the mass media, it lets us have so much fun .
